"Solidarity with people in undemocratic regimes" 

PIPA develops activities that support human rights and democracy in countries with authoritarian regimes. We have been particularly active in Cuba, where we support a range of independent civic activists and intellectuals, and provide support and material assistance to the families of political prisoners.

We also try to engage the Slovak public, media, and politicians on human rights issues, through education activities covering Cuba, Burma, North Korea, Iran, the Middle East and other regions. We facilitate a large number of documentary film viewings, and public discussions with dissidents, activists and journalists who are focused on undemocratic regimes.
